We are planning on a monthly mini-informational newsletter on our web site devoted to the wonderful graphics of Salvador Dali. There is some confusion and trepidation after everything that has been written and we hope to clear up some of these misconceptions in the upcoming newsletters and if any reader has a specific question please contact us and we will do our best to answer it.

If you perused our site you will know that I have been collecting Dali's graphic works for almost 30 years and own over 1000 of the approximately 1500 authorized editions. We have records and information on almost the entire body of work. As you can see from our qualifications we were the ones asked to appraise the estate of the late Albert Field when he donated his vast collection to the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. Mr. Field authored "The Official Catalog of the Graphic Works of Salvador Dali".

As a member of The International Society of Appraisers I have personally examined and or appraised over 12,000 works by Salvador Dali.

I bought my first signed print by Dali in 1977 from the uncle of the publisher Bill Levine of Levine and Levine. The lithograph was "The Barometer Woman" from the "Time Series" and this totally changed my life. It hasn't hurt that the prices have increased dramatically which totally reinforced my passion.

The first print we are going to cover is "The Wailing Wall" from 1978-one of the most counterfeited of all the works. We would appreciate any feed-back.

Thank you for visiting our site!

THE WAILING WALL

The Wailing WallThis is an embossed lithograph in a total edition of 300 plus proofs. The correct size as shown is 38 1/2 x 26 1/2 inches (Paper) and the numbered edition is 250 on Arches plus I-L on Lavis Fidelis paper. The artist proofs (EA) are on Arches.

There are many pieces with spurious signatures and incorrect edition numbers (Usually 300 or 350). The embossed portion on the correct ones are quite distinct and deep; whereas the others lack the depth.

We have a few copies for sale which came directly from Dali's personal secretary Enrique Sabater' and are accompanied with a certificate from same.
